Privacy policy

We have written this privacy policy (version 2026-10-09) to explain to you, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, what information we collect, how we use data and what choices you have as a visitor to this website.

Unfortunately it is in the nature of things that these explanations sound very technical. In writing them, however, we have tried to describe the most important points as simply and clearly as possible.

Automatic data storage

When you visit websites these days, certain information is created and stored automatically, including on this website. When you visit our website as you are doing right now, our web server (the computer this website is stored on) automatically stores data such as

in files (web server log files). As a rule, web server log files are stored for two weeks and then deleted automatically. We do not pass this data on, but cannot rule out that it may be inspected in the event of unlawful behaviour.

Visitor statistics without cookies

So that we can see how often our website is visited and how visitors find out about app2dat, your browser reports each page view to our own server (api.app2dat.com): the page viewed, the domain of the page that referred you (e.g. google.com), a campaign code from the link (e.g. ?ref=letter), the language displayed and the device type according to the browser identification. If you start the film or the tutorial on the home page, that click is counted as well. Only daily totals are stored, neither IP addresses nor identifiers, and no cookies are set. Individual visitors can therefore neither be identified nor recognised. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a website that meets visitors’ needs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser (neither localStorage nor sessionStorage). Without your action it does not embed content from third-party servers: fonts, images and the film on the home page come from our own servers (www.app2dat.com and visurial.com). The only exception are videos in starter packages, which your browser loads from YouTube only after your click (see Videos in starter packages).

Videos in starter packages (only after your click)

On the pages of our starter packages (www.app2dat.com/packages/) we show short videos that are stored on YouTube. YouTube is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The videos are embedded as a two-click solution: until you click “Play video”, the page only shows a placeholder (possibly with a preview image from our own server), and your browser does not connect to YouTube or Google.

Only when you start a video does your browser load the YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) directly from Google’s servers. We ourselves do not transmit any data. Through this connection Google receives in particular your IP address, information about your browser and device, the address of our page and information about how you use the video. YouTube may store cookies or similar technologies on your device for this purpose. If you are signed in to a Google account, Google can assign the visit to that account. A transfer to the USA is possible; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Without JavaScript, the click opens the video on youtube.com in a new window, where Google’s privacy policy applies.

The legal basis is your consent given by clicking “Play video” (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: after reloading the page, a video is only loaded after another click, and you can delete cookies stored by YouTube in your browser settings. You can find more information in Google’s privacy policy.

Storage of personal data

Personal data that you transmit to us electronically on this website, such as your name, email address, postal address or other personal details, are used by us together with the time and IP address only for the purpose stated in each case, are kept secure and are not passed on to third parties.

We therefore use your personal data only for communication with those visitors who expressly request contact and for processing the services and products offered on this website. We do not pass on your personal data without your consent, but cannot rule out that this data may be inspected in the event of unlawful behaviour.

If you send us personal data by email (i.e. outside this website), we cannot guarantee secure transmission and protection of your data. We recommend never sending confidential data by unencrypted email.

Your rights under the GDPR

Under the provisions of the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) you are in principle entitled to the following rights:

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have been infringed in any other way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Data Protection Authority, whose website you can find at https://www.dsb.gv.at/.

TLS encryption with https

We use https to transmit data securely on the internet (data protection by design, Article 25(1) GDPR). Through the use of TLS (Transport Layer Security), an encryption protocol for secure data transmission on the internet, we can ensure the protection of confidential data.
